And Baby Makes Three!!!

On Tuesday May 27th, at 7:07 pm. my best friend, Kelly brought Jack Leonard into this world. Weighing 7 lbs 6oz and 19 inches long he is so freaking cute and a healthy baby. I got to spend some time with them yesterday in the hospital and today they come home... that is crazy how little recovery you have in a hospital! Anyway, congrats guys and good luck with the little one!
Our addition is also coming a long. On Saturday at 6:45 am they showed up and starting taking off the roof... I then went and had a few shoots, when I came home they had the whole thing re framed and started putting the plywood up! it's awesome how quickly they got that done... since then not too much has happened but it's good to see progress!
This weekend was busy with shoots, I haven't even uploaded them onto my computer but I'm excited to show you, Alison, Olivia and Alison and her Mom. I will talk about all of them when I post them so I won't bore you twice! Back to work!

Lisa & Nick - May 17, 2008

I had 2 amazing honors this weekend, one was to stand by one of my best friends side as her matron of honor in her wedding, and the other was to be able to photograph them. As I've said before I love what I do and it's hard for me not to take photos, but it's also fun to be able to go to a wedding with my wonderful husband as a guest and on Saturday I was able to do both! Lisa and I have been friends since college and she is a true friend to me. We have seen each other in the ups and downs, and have made unforgettable memories. When she met Nick I knew he was the one. They were inseparable and they were just so happy together, always... hopefully you'll see that in some of these photos. I had the privilege of working with some of the best vendors on Saturday, one of course being Lunell, the others are Dana Bartone who did all of our hair and Lisa's make up... she was fabulous! Everything was at the Avon Old Farms Hotel and Gail and Noel were very accommodating. Then of course the ever famous Mike Connolly was our DJ who had us up and dancing all night.
Lunell was the official photographer for the day. I recommended a long time ago that Lisa use her as I've heard she is awesome and I have always loved her stuff. She is super creative and always gets the most eye catching shots, and she did so at their wedding too. It was great to be able to work with another professional and not have to worry about my shots. Having Lunell there I knew I could relax and do my other duties as matron of honor and not feel nervous all night that the photographer might miss a shot, I knew she had it covered... she's awesome. Anyway... here is a link to the slide show so check it out!

Jennifer & James May 10th

May 10th was a busy day here at Kimberly Lynn Photography. I had a batmitzvah and Sandra shot Jennifer and James wedding. Although I wasn't there I just opened the photos and it looks like they had a great time, and they make a beautiful couple. The ceremony and reception took place at the Lily Lake Inn
in Wolcott, CT. Check back soon for a slide show, but in the mean time, hope you enjoy some of these that I enjoyed best!

And the construction has begun!!!!!!

The long awaited addition has finally begun. On Monday our entire upstairs was gutted, I mean, down to the studs gutted. It was crazy, at 9:00am it was the same house I had always known, and at 1:00 it was completely different up there. It pretty much just looks like an attic now, but what kind of photographer would I be without showing you photos?
OK so you can't really tell but to describe what's going on again, we live in a small cape with one bathroom... the upstairs bedrooms are very small with little or no closet space and no bathroom upstairs. So we are blowing out the back of the house adding a dormer, making the bedrooms (and closets) bigger and also adding a full bath. We are so excited, but just can't wait for it to be over!
This weekend I had a batmitzvah at the Washington Club in Washington, CT... talk about in the middle of no where. You know that when you pass 19 antique shops on one 5 mile road that you are in a different place. It actually was beautiful but didn't provide me with much to do in my 3 hours off. Needless to say the transformation from day to night was unbelievable. Arrangements flowers and gifts did an amazing job.
I am just about to post Michelle and Jim's slide show so check the page at some point today to see it.
In other news Kacey's wake and funeral was last week. It was so sad seeing her little body in that little coffin, but she is in a better place now and pain free. If any of you are intersted in becoming a bone marrow donor, remember it could save lives... here is the info:

She Earned Her Wings...

Today at 10:46a.m Kacey Rose Mitchell earned her angel wings. She fought a long battle with AML cancer and today was taken from this earth. She is in a much better place now where she won't suffer. Please now say your prayers for her family to get them through this. I'll post more when I know more.

Happy Cinco De Mayo?!

So it's been a long time since I had any sort of Spanish, but Happy Cinco de Mayo... hope you all get out and enjoy a margarita!
Just wanted to share a few photos from this weekend. I already blogged about Carly's Batmitzvah, but here is a photo and her slide show.
On Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing Michelle and Jimmy's wedding at Amarantes It was a great wedding and a picture perfect setting. Michelle really wanted her ceremony outside and the weather held out enough for that. Here are some photos of Michelle getting ready. And even more... Can you tell this is her daughter? How cute, I think they look so much a like! And another favorite of Dad walking his daughter down to get married. This is just one of the two of them that I liked, and another of their first dance. Jimmy wasn't into the dancing at all, and was a good sport! They are honeymooning in St. Lucia... how jealous are all of you! I certainly am. Check back in a week or two to see the slide show!
I know yesterday I blogged about the JDRF event, but I put together a slide show which you can check out, and remember a percentage of the proceeds will be donated back to JDRF so be sure to pick up some photos!
Turned out to be a beautiful day, hope some of you can enjoy it!

JDRF

I just was going through some of this weekends events and wanted to post about the JDRF I volunteered for on Friday. It was such a fun event, and it shocked me to learn all about diabetes and all that are affected by it. The day started with guest speaker/singer and actress, Gloria Loring. I didn't realize who she was until she stood up and then it came to me. She was an actress on Days of our Lives and is quite a singer too! After Gloria sang, there was a fashion show, sponsored by Lily Pulitzer. All these kids in this photo all have diabetes ... isn't that crazy! After the fashion show, while lunch was being served they did the raffles, which was awesome. I can't believe all the amazing things companies donated for such a wonderful cause, game tickets, houses, vacations, TV shows, furniture, so much! Here is a priceless group of photos from this woman who won a raffle... How adorable is she?!
And one last photo of this girl who I just liked. Anyway if you are thinking of purchasing photos (when they are online that is) a percentage of the profit will be donated to JDRF so support the cause!
And of course... A Kacey update. It seems as though Kacey has taken a turn for the worse and her family is just hanging on right now to the moments they have left with her. Please just don't stop praying just yet, there is still a chance for a miracle before she earns her angel wings.
More soon.

Happy 1st day of May!

I can't believe it's already May! Gosh how time flies! I do have to admit that I am super excited for a bunch of reasons, one being May SHOULD mean nice weather which I really am looking forward to. It also means the real kick off to the wedding season, which I have this weekend, and all sorts of other family and children shoots as well! I'm just ready to take it all on.
Tomorrow I'm working that the JDRF fashion show. I am looking forward to this, and just think it will be adorable. There is a fashion show for all the kids, and from what I understand they will all be sporting Lilly Pulitzer. I am a huge fan of Lily stuff and think the kids being in it will be adorable! I'll be sure to let you know how it goes.
Saturday I am photographing Michelle and Jim's wedding. I'm really looking forward to that.
Sunday I have a few shoots. One for twin boys who are one years old, that should be cute. I also have a 8 month old girl who I have met but never had the opportunity to photograph, she was just beautiful and I can't wait to take pics of her! Then lastly a mother and her daughter. One of my brides and her mom are doing a little mother daughter shoot just for fun... how cute is that? After a long year of illness and death in the family they realized they really should have more photos of just the 2 of them so they could share with their kids... I think it's a wonderful idea!
And for those of you who just come on here to read up on Kacey, I don't have much news. She hasn't gotten any better, and I can't say that I know if she has gotten any worse. All I know is it's a hard time for her and her family and all the people who love her. So just keep praying, and hopefully it will pay off.
I guess that's it. Hope you all enjoy what's left of the night (I'm going to bed!) Night!
